The Department of Biochemistry and UW–Madison work to support community and belonging in the sciences. We can move towards a future that includes everyone at the table as integral members of the scientific community. When we work together, we can tackle some of the world’s greatest challenges.
- Staff represent Biochemistry at the annual Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS), American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) and/or Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Students (ABRCMS) conferences.
- Faculty are encouraged to invite guest speakers from varied backgrounds to give research lectures during our Biochemistry Colloquium series.
- We are actively building community within the department to celebrate the contributions of our trainees, faculty and staff, through social events, professional development sessions and training activities.
