Dr. Brown grew up in Southeastern Wisconsin and did their B.S. in biochemistry and biology at the University of Chicago. They did their PhD in biochemistry at Stanford University. They moved back to Wisconsin and joined the UW–Madison Department of Biochemistry in September 2026.
Dr. Brown aims to help students of all backgrounds get excited about learning biochemistry and achieve their learning goals. They strive to create an open environment where students can learn about how biochemistry connects to the world around them by using active learning techniques.
