Professor George Phillips, from the UW-Madison Department of Biochemistry, has been chosen as a future leader of the American Crystallographic Association. The ACA, as it is commonly called, is a non-profit, scientific organization with over 2,200 members in more than 60 countries. Friends and colleagues in the University of Wisconsin-Madison biochemistry department are deeply saddened by the loss of Rita Warden, who died as the result of a traffic accident on the Beltline on May 29.
