How to make a "proper" PDF file
Mac OS X – Text only files (NO IMAGES):

1. From any program

Open the file
Choose File - Print, and then click the Save As PDF button.

The computer will ask you to give your PDF file a name (please name it xxxxx.pdf) and choose a location to save it in. If this pdf file will ever end up on a web server for people to download you must have the file end in ".pdf".

2. From the Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Open the file
Choose the Convert to Adobe PDF button in the Adobe Acrobat PDF Maker toolbar.

The Save dialog box will appear.
Give your PDF file a name (please name it xxxxx.pdf) and choose a location to save it in. If this pdf file will ever end up on a web server for people to download you must have the file end in ".pdf".
