Graduate Students

We currently have several openings for graduate students in 2012 in the biological sciences, chemical sciences, and engineering. Links to the graduate programs from which we recruit students are listed below:

Undergraduate Students

We are committed to training undergraduate students in independent research. Undergraduates in the laboratory have the opportunity to conduct independent research projects in biochemistry, chemistry, and engineering.

Undergraduate research assistants in our lab work closely with a senior graduate student or postdoctoral fellow mentor. No funding is provided to research assistants during the academic year; instead RAs typically receive academic credit. Academic credit is calculated as follows:
5 hr in the laboratory/week is equivalent to 1 credit; the minimum commitment is 10 hr/week.

Summer Funding: All undergraduates are required to work in the lab full time over one summer. To accommodate this position, students should apply for summer funding. Funding is available from:

Deadlines vary. All summer funding fellowship procedures are independent of the application to the Weibel Laboratory.

Application: If you are interested in working in the Weibel Lab, please send relevant information (cover letter with goals and interests, CV/resume, and DARS report) to Prof. Weibel at douglas.weibel@wisc.edu
