Ruchika Sharma

Ruchika received her BSc degree in biomedical sciences from University of Delhi, India and graduated from the Indian Institute of Science in 2012 as an integrated PhD student in biochemistry. Her PhD thesis involved studies on DNA repair proteins in pathogenic bacteria like Haemophilus influenzae and Helicobacter pylori. She then moved to the National Institutes of Health as a post-doctoral fellow to study the effects of human chaperones on propagation and maintenance of yeast prions.

Ruchika joined Prof Elizabeth Craig’s lab at UW-Madison in 2013 as a postdoc and is interested in structural-functional studies of ribosome associated chaperones like Zuo1 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae using genetic and biochemical approaches.
