Kanghyun Lee graduated from Seoul National University with a BS and an MS in Chemical and Biological Engineering. While he was in the MS course, he studied roles of molecular chaperones and E3 ubiquitin ligases in folding and degradation of Pendrin under the guidance of Dr. Hahn.

In August 2011, he began working on his Ph.D. in the Integrated Program in Biochemistry. He joined the Craig lab in January of 2012, and is currently studying the ribosome-associated chaperones Zuo1 and Ssz1. He is pursuing how Zuo1 and Ssz1 interact with each other, how Zuo1 interacts with the ribosome, and the cellular functions and regulations of Zuo1 and Ssz1.
