The design and development of polyamide-based artificial transcription factors
Proteins called transcription factors (TFs) are important for determining which genes are expressed in a cell and which are not. Graham Erwin, a member of the Ansari Lab, has been working to generate genome-wide maps of polyamides, a component of many artificial TFs. Because many polyamides are able to cross the cell membrane, they have the potential to be used for therapeutics and research tools. Learn about the map he made of their locations in the genome at his Thesis Review on Wednesday, July 27 at 2 p.m. in the Khorana Auditorium.
