Setting up an iLab account

The BIF is now using an online scheduling system called iLab.  This system allows users to sign up for instrument use online and also manages funding numbers used for billing. 

BIF Instrument Users:

To sign up for and use BIF instruments, BIF users must register for an iLab account.

To register for an account:
To get started, you must register for an account:

  1. Click here to navigate to the BIF iLab page.
  2. In the upper-right-hand corner of the screen click the blue SIGN-UP button to register.
  3. At the next page, enter the required information (use your University of Wisconsin email address).  For institutional affiliation, begin typing in university and then choose University of Wisconsin from the pulldown menu.  After entering the information, press continue.
  4. Select your primary role from the pull-down menu (ex. Graduate Student).
  5. Enter your PI’s information.
  6. If your PI is not already registered with iLab (if your PI's name does not show up in step 7), then click on the box labeled: No, my lab is not registered...
  7. Type the name of your lab in the box and select your PI from the pull-down menu.
  8. Select No to question at the bottom of the page and click continue.
  9. Click to complete your registration.

Your account will require confirmation by the iLab team and takes about 24 hours.  Following this confirmation, you will be able to log in and schedule instrument time.
